PATIKA Database integrates data from several sources, including
Entrez Gene,
UniProt,
PubChem,
GO,
IntAct,
HPRD, and
Reactome.
The database focuses only on human pathway data
and currently contains several thousand states of many different biological entities and
a few thousand reactions. However stay tuned
as we are currently working on integrating other protein and interaction
databases, most notably
BIND.
Users can query and access this data using PATIKAweb's query interface,
and can save their results in XML or export to common picture formats.
Furthermore, our
BioPAX and
SBML
exporters can be used as part of this Web service.
On a technical note, PATIKA Database is based on
the Spring Framework, and
uses
Hibernate as its ORM layer.
The following figure illustrates the key features and data flow within PATIKA
components and PATIKA database.
